Virtual Placement 8.1 enhances the Automatic Chroma Keyer with new runtime flexibility. Operators can now switch between manual and automatic chroma keying during live production, making it easier to adapt as sunlight, shadows, and field conditions change without interrupting the workflow. Performance has also been improved when using the auto keyer across multiple cameras, helping teams maintain cleaner and more consistent results throughout the broadcast.
A lower-latency, fail-safe path for calibrated cameras
This release also introduces a new program-to-isolated camera comparison workflow that supports Virtual Placement as a downstream solution. The workflow reduces delay and helps ensure the correct calibration is loaded when a camera goes to air, giving operators a more dependable fail-safe process at the moment a feed becomes live. The first phase supports one isolated feed and lays the foundation for future workflow expansion, including multi-ISO support and more precise advert logging.

Building on proven stabilization work, Virtual Placement 8.1 expands line tracking stabilization to additional sports, improving the consistency of tracked lines and virtual elements across varying venues, camera positions, and production environments.
