Torneos Adopts Chyron for Graphics and Virtual Reality Modernization

Torneos Utilizes Chyron VSAR for Innovative World Cup Coverage, Launches Phased Rollout of Chyron PRIME for Graphics

MELVILLE, N.Y., September 1,  2026 — Chyron announced today the phased rollout of its technology at Torneos, supporting multiple aspects of visual storytelling at this premium Latin American broadcaster of sports events, commentary and analysis. Torneos, a WAIKEN ILW company and a leader in the sports entertainment industry, selected Chyron, after an extensive review, to replace a legacy end-of-life graphics system. With this modernization, Chyron PRIME will power broadcast graphics, touchscreen presentations, and video walls at Torneos, across all of its Latin American broadcast facilities. Additionally, Torneos is utilizing Chyron VSAR to drive stunning virtual environments and extended and augmented reality elements for compelling, specialized coverage. Chyron CAMIO will serve as the orchestration tool, capable of bringing all of these visual elements into any show’s rundown.

Torneos Selects Chyron to Modernize Sports Graphics and Virtual Production

“We are focused on delivering the best graphics solution to our customers. At Torneos, we have built our reputation on providing distinctive sports coverage that goes beyond the game itself. The visual experience and entertainment value must be exceptional, which made this a particularly important decision for us. We were looking for a solution that would not only meet our customers’ current needs, but also enable us to anticipate the challenges of the future,” said Roxana Malek, graphics and design manager at Torneos.

How Torneos Used Chyron VSAR for FIFA World Cup 2026 Coverage

The first phase of the launch was extensive, for the special coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ from June 11 through July 19. This project was developed for DSPORTS. DSPORTS programming reaches an audience of millions of households across the Southern Cone and the Andean region, spanning seven key South American countries: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Chyron VSAR Transforms a New York Studio in 72 Hours

Torneos oversaw the production of all DSPORTS TV shows covering the events of the World Cup from a purpose-built studio in New York City. While some aspects of the launch were in preparation for several weeks, this studio was implemented within a very tight timeline. Over a span of 72 hours, an empty loft in the Soho district became a state-of-the-art production facility for virtual, augmented and extended reality utilizing Chyron VSAR. Commentators appeared to be in various stadiums where World Cup games were held. They shared the magic of virtual environments, sometimes playfully, promoting upcoming events by virtually jumping from one stadium to another. They also utilized virtual production to display data, heatmaps, headshots and other content in a lively, compelling manner. The virtual sets, powered by Chyron VSAR, were crafted in house, by the talented Torneos team.

“With Chyron VSAR as the platform for our virtual sets, we achieved a highly efficient workflow. VSAR’s compatibility with vanilla Unreal® allows us to make adjustments directly within the VSAR interface, without having to return to Unreal. Given the project’s tight schedule, this capability represented a significant advantage,” says Roxana Malek, Torneos Graphics and Design Manager.

Torneos Uses PRIME to Unify Graphics, Touchscreens and Video Walls While Building PRIME Expertise Through Training and Certification

The next phase of the rollout launched on August 27, in coordination with the unveiling of DSPORTS brand refresh. To prepare for the launch, the Torneos graphics team began building expertise via Chyron’s free online training and certification program. Several Torneos designers achieved the Chyron PRIME Black Belt Certification, and a new graphics package including data integration and robust, bespoke playout panels is in completion. By utilizing PRIME as the design engine, the graphics team can leverage its new skills across on-air graphics, presenter touchscreens and in-studio video walls.

How Chyron Technology Supports Torneos’ Future Sports Production

“Customer-centricity meets innovation, is a core Chyron value. This project with Torneos was not about making a sale. It was about listening, consulting and collaborating with the Torneos team to ensure that they could achieve their modernization goals in the way that works best for them, empowering them to cover sports in the vibrant, engaging way for which they are known. Infusing Chyron across their workflow brings added efficiency and cost savings, plus unmatched design consistency,” states Aldo Campisi, vice president, Latin America at Chyron. “Their success really raises the bar for comprehensive virtual production, in sports coverage. Seeing our technology contribute to such iconic global productions reinforces Chyron’s commitment to innovation and further establishes VSAR as the graphics platform of choice for the industry’s most demanding VS,AR,XR live events.”

Torneos Builds a Future-Ready Foundation for Sports Storytelling

The Torneos deployment demonstrates how modern broadcast technology can bring greater efficiency, consistency and creative flexibility to sports production. By combining Chyron PRIME, VSAR and CAMIO across graphics, virtual production, touchscreens and video walls, Torneos has established a unified foundation that can evolve alongside its production needs.

From the immersive virtual environments created for FIFA World Cup 2026 coverage to data-driven graphics and augmented reality storytelling, the deployment gives Torneos new ways to engage audiences while streamlining the workflows behind the scenes. The result is a more efficient, cost-conscious and visually consistent approach to sports production – one designed not only to meet today’s demands, but to give the Torneos team the creative and technological foundation to tell the next generation of sports stories.
