Chyron Announces Leadership Transition to Position Company for Continued Innovation and Success

MELVILLE, N.Y. May 17, 2023 — Chyron today announced a leadership transition that will augment the company’s capacity for innovation, delivery of customer-centric solutions, and leadership in cloud implementation for live production. Mike Truex is serving in an expanded leadership role for the company, now as Chyron president and CFO, with the guidance of Chyron board member Rainer Gawlick, acting as interim CEO. The company’s previous CEO has transitioned to a role outside the industry.

“As our strong financial position and our recent success at the 2023 NAB Show both demonstrate, Chyron is successfully pursuing a smart product strategy with robust solutions that address our customers’ current and future requirements,” said Truex. “Thanks to talented team members across the organization, we’re ahead of the curve in delivering sophisticated yet straightforward graphics solutions, both on premises and in the cloud. With the full backing of Apollo, our majority shareholder, and a great partner and mentor in Rainer, I look forward to building on the knowledge and experience of the Chyron team to drive even greater success for the company and our customers.”

Truex has served as Chyron’s CFO since 2018. In his expanded role, Truex will oversee all activities of the company. He will work closely with Gawlick in guiding the company’s development and growth. Gawlick has more than 30 years of experience in the technology sector as an operating executive, a board member, and a management consultant.
